Why they are a saint

Saint Theodulus was the son of Saint Nilus the Faster (November 12), and he recorded the slaughter of the holy Fathers at Raithu in the fifth century. The Orthodox Church commemorates Theodulus on January 14.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Theodulus as a patron when they bear the name Theodulus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 14. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
