Why they are a saint

The Holy Martyr Susanna the Virgin was the daughter of Presbyter Gavinius and a niece of the Holy Bishop Caius of Rome (283-296). The Orthodox Church commemorates Virgin Martyr Susanna on August 11.

Orthodox Christians usually take Virgin Martyr Susanna as a patron when they bear the name Virgin at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on August 11. As a martyr, she is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
