The Holy Martyr Zosimos the Soldier lived in the city of Apollonia in Thrace during the reign of Emperor Trajan, a fierce persecutor of Christians (89-117). The Orthodox Church commemorates Zosimus the Soldier at Antioch on June 19.

Orthodox Christians usually take Zosimus the Soldier at Antioch as a patron when they bear the name Zosimus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 19. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
